Maude Sabourin

Sugar Plum Fairy

Dancer and ballet mistress with an extraordinary career, Maude Sabourin continues to push the boundaries of her art. Trained at the École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec before joining the prestigious Ballets de Monte-Carlo, she quickly rose to the rank of principal dancer, performing on some of the world’s most renowned stages. She has had the privilege of collaborating with legendary choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Marco Goecke, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Marcia  Haydée and William Forsythe.

In 2018, after an international career, she joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal as a principal dancer, where she continues to elevate her craft. Maude is invited to perform in prestigious dance galas all over the world, where she gets to share her art and passion with different communities worldwide.

Maude also became the artistic director of The Dance Lab, an organization that enables her to host workshops and masterclasses, with all proceeds donated to humanitarian causes. In June 2025, she produced a fundraising dance show uniting women of all generations on stage, in  Montreal, in support of women victims of domestic violence, furthering her commitment to using art as a tool for social change. During the pandemic, she also created the online platform  The Ballet Cure, allowing everyone to explore ballet from home.

In 2024, Maude was featured in the Portraits and Fashion – Québec Photographers Beyond  Borders exhibition at the McCord Museum, the result of an exceptional collaboration with photographer Carl Lessard. This artistic encounter celebrates the fusion of dance and fashion.

As a ballet mistress, performer, and deeply empathetic speaker, Maude Sabourin’s journey is a true homage to dance and art, which she uses as a tool to foster community connections and inspire others.

Right from the curtain rising through the following two hours of the outstanding production, surprise and delight followed one after another.
